Friday July 25th, 1975

In its current state, this could easily be the nicest day in someone's life.
It just needs a little SOMETHING and SOMEONE. If you have something to add--add it, if you don't--enjoy what you have recieved for no work at all; this beautiful, warm, and strong July day.

On the naked Belgrade sky, the sun is alone. Shadows are ever shorter. Today shade with be rare and expensive.
We're reminding you that its summer, a good time to warm yourselves up. Any other heating later in the year will be less certain and more expensive.

If there are no objections to this flawless morning this day can start, something we cannot vote on as this July, like others, Belgrade has no quorum. Let the day commence, and any eventual remarks can be discussed this winter, when there are more of us, and less sun.
Maybe in the meantime we'll change our minds.

Its nice, let's not ruin it. If someone is having issues, he should blame his wife and children rather than this beautiful sunshine and summer.

Thursday July 24th, 1975

On the blue frying pan sky, the sun is sunny-side up.

Those who were lucky enough to wake up in Belgrade this morning can count that they've accomplished enough for the day today, any further insistence would simply be immodest.

Early this morning we spotted the shadow of the Palata Beograd* in the distance, almost as far as the Palata Pravde.* At least now we know the origin of the shadow that has fallen on this tall legal institution.

We don't know how far Belgrade is calculated vertically, but it can be said that we, on the last floor of the Beogradjanka, originate from Belgrade.

New Belgrade* has lined up for its morning processional. Each bloc like cete, groups of blocs like battalions. The high-rises are already in their positions.

Green city buses are hurrying towards the green periphery of Belgrade, from which they return even greener.

Avala* is peering out from the hilly relief of Belgrade, she has hoisted her periscope, the TV tower* and is watching what's happening in the town for whom she is the poetic symbol. Can she see, for example, that poor working girl from Prokop? And what about that other poor working girl from Jatagan?
Who knows where she is. Maybe on the Boulevard Saint-Michel in Paris.

*Palata Beograd is the local name for the 'Beogradjanka' building, which, literally translated means 'Belgrade Lady'. 'Palata' is the Serbian word for 'palace'

*Palata Pravde is the name of a building which houses the bus station in Belgrade.

Wednesday July 23rd, 1975

Night has left a thick fog in low-lying areas of Belgrade; a fog that isn't sure whether it wants to be rain, dew, or saltwater.
At first the sun's rays were set to '1', and the fog could still get carried away. But then when we turned the sun up to '2' and then '3', the fog evaporated, leaving our city this beautiful blue morning.

Old Belgrade has left towards New Belgrade.
New towards Old, like every morning.
The bridges are packed.
Both sides think that the grass is greener on the other.
When they figure out its not, they will return from whence they came.

At the Belgrade bus station, a time-out has been requested. Busses have gathered around their dispatchers and are making an agreement to change to presing.
The Great War island is, like a dog, shaking off the water it was up until recently in.

The Revolutionary Boulevard* is flowing downhill, as usual this morning.
Motors are purring, exhaust pipes are gurgling, brakes are squeaking.
On both sides of the street red, yellow, and green traffic lights have sprouted.
What a nice summer morning.

Before whatever will happen happens, the Sava twists and primps like its her first time, like she doesn't know that around the bend the old tramp Danube awaits.

Its time for slatko* and water, which are only consumed by undeveloped and retarded parts of the city.

*Serbian name is 'Bulevar Revolucije'. Has since been renamed to King Aleksandar Boulevard

*Slatko is a whole fruit preserve traditionally consumed along with water in the mornings.

Tuesday July 22nd, 1975

Should we, slowly?
Waiting for us is a big and long summer day named TUESDAY, blood brother of that Monday, that we just so happily okoncali.
Let's start slowly...everyone take your places, and to work...

Those who don't know where their place is yet, should take a seat and lay down at the first place they happen upon. If they get in trouble, they should freely say that we sent them...

Comrades, from up here on the 23rd floor of the "Beograd" skyscraper! It's nice here, and from what we can see, its not too bad down there either!

In Banat every night a nice, healthy, plump sun ripens and in the early morning gets carried to the closest Belgrade market; at Djeram, Bajlonjevom, and Jovanovu.*
But at Zeleni Venac* there are already fresh clouds for sale from Srema. Today there will be many options...

It's still early to tell you which areas of Belgrade will remain without sunshine and which without rain today...

If you're committed to sun, then enjoy it now, before it's sold out...
Shall we, slowly?
The time is...it's already July 22nd, 1975!
Watches are working, trams are working, the Sava is working, the Danube is working, fish are working...you might as well start too!

*Djeram, Bajlonjeva, Jovanova, and Zeleni Venac are all outdoor markets in Belgrade.

Monday July 21st, 1975

Another day has begun...the beginning of another week.
Whoever was thinking that they should be better or thinner- there is no reason not to start today!

This is a day for those repeating, for all those who already tried but didn't succeed...today they could start from the beginning!

Along the Sava and Danube the nicest Mondays of our lives are flowing away, every day could be precious...like we all know, the next monday isn't for another week!

Belgrade has rested up, i evo ga bodrog i cilog na nogama i tockovima...
The way he took off, if there werent so many traffic lights, who knows where he might have gotten to!

In your window frames today you have a pretty, clear picture in colour... The sky above Belgrade is blue, the sun is straightforward, today in Belgrade it will be easy to tell, what is what and who is who. If the picture in your window isnt clear, no need to call the technician...That problem can be eliminated with just a little water, soap, and some high quality newspaper.

Belgrade has seven hills: Malesko, Topcidersko, Banovo, Julino, Kanarevo, Petlovo, Pasino. Behind these seven hills, like in a fairy tale, theres always something else, it just depends from where you're looking.
It could be the skyscraper "Beograd" from whose last storey we're broadcasting to you this morning...

We're been awake since early this morning! We've already taken a survey of our view, looked at and checked out everything...you are free to get up!
The mercury in the thermometer has already been awake and active forever!

Friday July 18th, 1975

We can safely say, daylight has come again. Here is another beautiful, clear morning above Belgrade!
Those who didn't waver at the first clouds and instead patiently waited for this morning and sunshine will be richly rewarded.

From the 23rd floor of the "Beograd" skyscraper we watch as our big city bathes in the sun, stretches and enjoys. It's very nice!

Two bird men, not from Dusanovca, but from smack-dab in the city centre on the roof of a building in Marsala Tita street released their flock this morning, and now they're following it across the high sky.

On the freshly groomed street between the 45 and 70 blocks and the Gazela* cars sparkle like fireflies. The Sava has calmed down and decided that she wants to be pretty and good like before.
Beneath the Gazela between the Sava and the railway tracks, a small green soccer field has made itself at home. It looks strange, right there, squeezed into that hustle and bustle. Almost as if someone forgot it when they were moving.

On Slaviji, at the end of Nemanjine street, high below the roof, diapers are drying. Twenty white diapers are being warmed by the hot sun. Whoever will get wrapped up in these this morning is lucky.

Belgrade is out this morning in full force, fair and fresh. Who knows what its ready to do. Belgrade, roll up your blinds, open your windows!

*Gazela is the most important bridge in Belgrade, connected the old city to the newer area (Novi Beograd). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gazela_Bridge

*Slavije is a large intersection in Belgrade controlled by a roundabout.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavija_Square

Thursday July 17th, 1975

We're sitting here, on the 23rd floor of the "Beograd" skyscraper and watching what's happening! Most of all in the sky!
While we were sleeping, under darkness, mute, some clouds snuck in again, and here they are again above our nice city.
We'll likely see what they want later today.

It makes no sense for rain to fall only to clean the cars or windows of lazy people. There ar emuch more serious reasons for it not to fall. The more blue sky and sun, our city is shiny and white...Whoever has left from afar towards BEO-GRAD will easily recognize the city and find it.

We hear that after fifteen years of preparations a group of Belgrade idlers set out to finally conquer the highest point in Belgrade--Avala.*
And if the weather turns on them, well then, they'll attempt it again on the next nice day.

Across from the fairgrounds, on the Sava flows a long caravan of "Slepova". Nadajmo se da ne prevoze vodu.

This morning continues to be grey and foggy. Final results are still uncertain. We feel bad for the meteorologists, especially if they get paid only for fulfilled predictions, tough life.
This summer the real money is in umbrellas.
However, we at least aren't in any rush.
We'll sit and wait and see, what will happen. And until we find out what will happen, well, we can't start anything more serious.

*BEO GRAD emphazises the etymological roots--"white" and "city" of Beograd.
*Avala is a mountain overlooking Belgrade in the south-eastern part of the city
